Stripes and Glitter

I was really feeling blue the other day. Not the sad blue, the color blue. I had a hankering to do some blue nail art so I rifled through my nail polish stash for some of my favorite blues. Then, I wanted glitter because...well, because I always want glitter. Hubby pointed out that I hadn't done stripes in a while so I grabbed my striping tape, too.

Sparkly Texture

While I was grocery shopping the other day, I came across a display rack for L'oreal Paris Color Riche Gold Dust. Well, I'm a sucker for textured nail polish. ESPECIALLY glittery textured nail polish. And these gold dust nail polishes are so so so sparkly. I was torn between two colors and asked hubby to pick one for me. (He picks out a lot of my nail polishes for me.) He couldn't decide, either, so he told me to get both! Well, I've only tried one, so far, and I am IN LOVE!

Doug

I may have been born in the mid 80s, but I fully consider myself a 90s kid. Obviously I was too young to really appreciate the 80s while they were still happening, but I love everything about the 90s. I have the top 250 hits of the 90s and I listen to it constantly. And Disney movies made in the 90s are some of the best. But one of my favorite things about the 90s were the shows! Cartoons, especially! One of those cartoons was Doug.

I LOVED THAT SHOW! So, when I decided to do nail art inspired by 90s cartoons, I started with Doug!

I'm back!

I finally resolved my photo uploading issues and I was super excited to start posting again. Then, the rechargeable batteries for my camera crapped out on me so I had to get new ones. As "convenient" as technology is, it sure causes some major headaches. Well, now I can both take photos and upload them so I'm back to posting regularly. Yay!

Right before my batteries died, I asked hubby for some inspiration. I asked him which of my nail art designs/techniques he likes the most. He really loves when I do water marbled nails. So, I did a water marble design for him!

Pokemon Nails

My hubby is a big Pokemon fan. He just got a new Pokemon game not too long ago and he's pretty much been obsessed with it. So, when I got the itch to do another cartoon nail art design, I thought it would be fun to do something inspired by his new favorite game! I asked him what some of his favorite Pokemon were and he gave me a small list and I chose the ones I liked best!

Matte Splatter

I was looking through some of my old nail art photos the other day. I realized that I love the way splatter nails look but I rarely do them anymore. So, I thought I'd do one in some nice bright colors.

Date Night Nails (updated)

Friday night, hubby and I went on a dinner and a movie date night. I was giving my nails a break that day and, ten minutes before we needed to leave, I remembered that I had naked nails. I couldn't leave the house like that! I needed something quick and decided that a glittery French manicure was the way to go.

A Love of Mine

I have a problem. With coffee. All coffee. I always need want it. Most of the time I can get by without it for a while but sometimes I just can't cope. One thing that exacerbates this problem is Starbucks. I love it and I am not ashamed.

I have been wanting to do a Starbucks inspired mani for a while but just never got around to it. Well, while brainstorming today, it crossed my mind again so I decided to do it!

Neutral & Glitter

Today, I was in the mood to do something subtle and neutral with my nails. I opened one of my polish drawers and, instantly, saw OPI Berlin There Done That. I love this color and almost forgot that I had it.

Just a Quickie: Purple and Pink

Purple- A-England Avalon (DISCLAIMER: My camera hates this color! It is not blue! It's a gorgeous royal purple! I tried everything I could think of to make this photo more true to life.)
Pink - Julep Janel
Glitter - Sinful Colors Star Dust
Striping tape and round pink rhinestones from the Born Pretty Store.

Fizzy Funky French

I don't know how many of you are feeling the effects of "Winter Storm Hercules" but we sure are. Here in Michigan, we got quite a bit of snow over the last 24 hours. In our area, we got between 12-15 inches! I love it! Unfortunately, with the ridiculous temperatures (the windchill right now is -35 degrees!!!) the snow is pure powder and I can't even build a snowman! :(

Today's manicure has absolutely nothing to do with the snow. I just love the snow! :)

Wintery Waterfall

I love snow! And it is snowing! It's been snowing since yesterday. If you live near the Great Lakes or in the Northeast, you know. Some of you have gotten a couple inches and some of you have gotten a few inches. If you're lucky, like us, you're getting inches in the teens!

Yay!

This morning, hubby and I spent some time outside. At first, it was just to shovel the walk and driveway but we ended up playing in the snow. This included hubby throwing me into the snow; I took him down with me, though, so it was fine. I wanted to make a snowman (which hubby thinks is silly) but the snow was just too powdery. Maybe later this week!

On to my nails...
I wanted to do something frosty looking in honor of all this snowfall and I love what I came up with!

I Love Holo

I've been a little bit indecisive about what to do with my nails lately. I have a lot of ideas but, most of the time, I get started on my nails too late and those ideas would take too much time. I really should get myself in the habit of doing my nails earlier in the day.

Anyhow, all I knew when I started was that I wanted to do something with one of my Nfu-Oh holographic polishes. So, that's where I started.

First post of 2014

What a year it's been! It really seems to have just flown by. It was a great year for me and I hope it was for all of you, as well. And hopefully next year will be even better!

Naturally, I had to do a manicure to welcome the new year!
