Dots and Spots!

The inspiration for these nails is somewhat odd; my toes. I had just given myself a pedicure and painted my toes with ORLY Fancy Fuchsia. It's finally flip-flop weather and Fancy Fuchsia is perfect on toes in the sunshine. I didn't want just plain pink nails, though, so I grabbed my black and white Sally Hansen nail art pens and made some random polka dots. Hubby loved it and so did I. So much so that I recreated the look on my hands!

Sunset Gradient

Have you ever accidentally created something awesome? I have. This design is one of those creations. I had two colors picked out but wasn't sure what to do with them. When I settled on a gradient, I had no idea that it would turn out so pretty. It looks just like a gorgeous sunset!

Why Do I Water Marble?

Water marbled nails are so pretty...when they turn out right. Often, they don't. It's a frustrating process and I get pretty impatient and agitated but I love the look so much! Even when it's imperfect, it looks so cool.

A Little Dry Marble

I don't know why, but I love marbled nails. That includes all nail marbling techniques. Maybe it has something to do with the finishes. Each technique has such a unique look to it. Or maybe it's the fact that you can use everyday, household objects to achieve them.
One of the simplest to do is dry marbling. Other than nail polish, all you need is a needle or pin of some sort!

Doodling

I didn't actually have any direction when I started doing my nails today. I felt like using a glitter and chose Funky Fingers Sand and Stilettos. It took me a while to decide what to use it over and eventually settled on Sally Hansen White On. There's just something about white nails that I love. Afterwards, I got bored and grabbed my Sally Hansen nail art pen in fine black and started doodling on my nails. I was actually pretty pleased with the results!

Spotted Marble

I started out doing this design wanting a simple cling wrap marble. After the fact, I decided that I had to add something to it. Of course, I chose polka dots.

Something Geometric

I was in the mood for something geometric but, at the same time, I wanted something quick and simple. I've also been doing Spring inspired nail art lately so I thought I'd take a break from that type of color scheme.
